Four held for robbery; Rs 41.5 lakh valuables seized

Suitable cash reward for the police team that busts the cases

Police were successful in arresting four persons involved in two separate incidents of thefts, and have recovered 1.95 kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 41.50 lakh, Rs two lakh cash and 15 two-wheelers including one moped.

Addressing a press meet in Mandya on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Bushan Borase said the accused have been produced before the court and have been lodged in Mandya sub-jail. He also announced suitable cash prize for the team of police who cracked the cases.

Incidents

In the first incident, Mudassir Pasha, 24, resident of Cottonpet, Bangalore, who was involved in daylight and night robbery was arrested and Rs 31 lakh worth gold valuables including Rs two lakh cash was seized.

According to police, he was involved in thefts at 13 places in Mandya city and rural limits, Nagamangala and Rural, KRS and Shivalli police station limits.

In the second incident Mohankumar, 23, of Kodiyala village in Srirangapatna taluk; Mahadeva alias Long Mahadeva, 28 of Sundahalli village and Puttaraju, 24, of Hunasanahalli, Arakere hobli were the arrested.

 Police seized 139 gm gold ornaments worth Rs 10.5 lakh and 15 two-wheelers from them.

It is said that they were involved in robbery at Water tank road, Ashok Nagar, Srinivas temple road, Leelavathi layout, near KSRTC depot and also at more than 10 places coming under various police station limits in Mysore.

Dy SP Shobha Rani, Mandya city circle inspector K M Harish Babu, PSIs Siddaraju, K S Niranjan, Lingaraju, Venkatesh and others took part in the operation.
