Australia’s favourite comedians from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) Roadshow are set to give a rib-tickling show in the City, as part of the ongoing Oz Fest. The MICF is one of the biggest comedy festivals world wide and is touring India for the first time.

The line-up of artistes include MC Dave Callan, musical duo Smart Casual, Harley Breen, Cal Wilson and Matt Okine. The roadshow has been touring for 14 years and owes its success to the outstanding quality of its performers.

Matt Okine was most recently nominated for Sydney Comedian of the Year. Harley Breen charms audiences all over the world and Australia with his high energy comic story-telling and winning charisma. Cal Wilson is one of Australia’s leading comedians and has been a regular face on TV screen for last eight years.

The Festival Director, Susan Provan will accompany the tour to identify established and emerging Indian comedians to take them back to Melbourne to perform at MICF 2013.

As part of the fest, an open competition ‘RAW Comedy’ in search of India’s best comedy act. The winner will be invited to Melbourne for a guest spot at the festival next year.

“The Indian comedy industry is growing exponentially, particularly with student bodies and young audiences,” says Bridget Bantick, the Festival’s Associate Director. The artistes will perform on November 10 and 11 at Blue Frog, Mehrauli, at 8 pm and 9 pm respectively.
