Hold session for at least 15 days: Cong

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council S R Patil on Wednesday demanded that the Karnataka government should hold winter session of the State Legislature in Belgaum for at least 15 days.

He told mediapersons that the government has decided to hold the session between December 5 and 13, but the total working days will be only four to five.

People of the State are facing a number of problems like power shortage and drinking water scarcity, which need to be discussed in the session. People, especially those in north Karnataka, have hoped that their problems would be addressed in the Belgaum session, he added.

Replying to a question, Patil said: “The BJP has lost the moral right to continue in  power. Administration has suffered due to infighting in the party. Jagadish Shettar has proved himself to be a lunatic chief minister,” he alleged.

The Congress does not want to destabilise the BJP government, but people, fed up with its “misadministration,” will teach an appropriate lesson to the party in the next Assembly elections, he added.
