Boy falls to death

A three-year-old boy, Nodal, who was playing in a room, while his parents were busy watching television, slipped out of the room’s window from the seventh floor and fell to his death at SJR Vista Apartments, HSR Layout, on Thursday.

The security guard at the apartment, who noticed the baby fall, immediately rushed to his rescue. But the severely injured child was unconscious. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he died Friday morning.

It was a sliding window at the bedroom with no railings for protection.

The parents, in their statement to the police, said that they were at a loss to know how the child could have opened the window. It is learnt that the child, playing on the cot next to the window, had slid the pane of the window, which was not closed properly.

Out of curiosity, the child may have peeped outside the window, lost the balance and fell, said the police.
