Man in extramarital affair found dead in car

A property dealer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the back seat of his car in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden late on Friday.

Praveen Singh, 36, lived with his wife and three children at Samaspur village in Najafgarh. According to police, he was found inside his Maruti Suzuki Alto car in the parking lot of Rajouri Garden’s B K Dutta Market.

A police control room vehicle took possession of the body after a call was received around 11.30 am. A forensic team also reached the spot and took samples of fingerprints.

“The reason behind Praveen’s death is yet to be ascertained. It will be too early to say anything before the arrival of the post-mortem report. We are waiting for the postmortem report and will be able to arrive on a conclusion after that,” said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west).

However, police sources claimed that Praveen committed suicide by hanging at a rented accommodation in Uttam Nagar on Thursday, where he stayed with his girlfriend. Praveen was married, but had an extramarital relationship with a woman, with whom he was living-in at Uttam Nagar. His family members were unaware about this.

According to source, on Thursday night, when Praveen’s girlfriend returned home, she saw him hanging to the ceiling fan and got terrified. Not knowing what to do with the body, she left it in his car in Rajouri Garden market with the help of friends.

Police have detained the woman and are investigating her involvement in the case.

Investigators are also analysing CCTV footage available at B K Dutta Market. Sources said cops have found footage that can help in cracking the case. In the footage, three persons, including two women, were seen stepping out of the victim’s car.
No case has been lodged so far as post-mortem report is awaited.
