JOIN USA 14-year-old boy was beaten up and strangled by his friend, a juvenile, in north-west Delhi’s Mahendra Park.
Police suspect that he was killed after being sodomised late on Wednesday and apprehended the accused.
According to deputy commissioner of police (north-west) P Karunakaran, the boy was found dead at a vacant plot in Jahangirpuri on Thursday morning. The victim was later identified as a resident of nearby Ramgarh Colony by one of his neighbours.
“As the body was found in naked condition, it is suspected that the boy was sodomised by the accused. There were several injury marks on his chest and neck. We have apprehended the juvenile, but his associate is absconding,” Karunakaran said.
During investigation, the younger brother of the boy told police that he was kidnapped from a video game shop at Jahangirpuri Block I.
“It was revealed that the victim was playing video game with his younger brother around 10 pm on Wednesday. The accused juvenile and his friend (a man) were also present and they made plans to take away the boy and satisfy their lust,” Karunakaran added.
The younger brother and the shopkeeper further told police that they had seen the victim being taken away by the accused.
Police later managed to identify the juvenile culprit and conducted a raid at his house afer a tip-off. “We apprehended the accused on Friday. At his instance, a brick allegedly used in the crime was also recovered,” Karunakaran said.
Investigation is on to arrest the absconding adult accomplice of the juvenile. The police have lodged a case of murder with Mahendra Park Police Station and are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm sodomy.
