Vasanthi and six other residents of Sivan Chetty Garden had filed a PIL in August 2009 not to proceed on the proposed construction of public toilet at the entrance of Nala road, as it would affect the residents. They claimed that the proposed location for the toilet was 10-15 feet radius from a school and it would also block the main road.
Granting an interim stay on construction, the Court has however stated that the BBMP is at liberty to look for alternate sites for the toilet construction.
