Three persons, including a woman, died in separate house collapse incidents in the two districts on Wednesday.

Harish, 24, an engineer with Ashok Leyland and Sujatha, 34, were buried alive when the roof of a house at Kolar Gold Fields came crashing down.

The house belongs to Narayanamurthy, a contractor. Harish is the nephew of Narayanamurthy, while Sujatha is his brother’s wife.

Avinash and Pushpalatha, who sustained injuries, have been admitted to the government hospital.

A total of 11 members of an undivided family resided in the house.

While cooking gas leakage is suspected to have triggered the roof collapse, the exact cause is yet to be ascertained, police said.

In another incident, a man was killed on the spot while another sustained grievous injuries when the wall of a house collapsed at S Devaganahalli of Shidlaghatta taluk in Chikkaballapur district.

The dead has been identified as Narasimhappa, 35, a resident of Galachintapalli near Dibburahalli. Manjunath, 38, of S Devaganahalli has been shifted to a hospital in Bangalore with grievous injuries.

Narasimhappa, a coolie, had interest in theatre and was discussing about a play, scheduled to be staged on Thursday, with other artistes when the wall of his dilapidated house came crashing down.

He was buried alive under the debris, police said.
