Registration date extended for CAT


Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Prometric have announced the extension of the last date for online registration and sale of vouchers for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009. The online registration, which was earlier scheduled to end on October 1, 2009 has been extended until October 11, 2009. The ‘Edit’ feature will also be available to candidates until October 11, 2009. The sale of CAT vouchers at designated AXIS bank branches has been extended until October 8, 2009.

The decision was taken by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Prometric in view of a series of bank holidays in September. The computer–based CAT 2009, which is scheduled between November 28 and  December 7, 2009, will be conducted in 32 Indian cities through 105 secure computer-based testing centres.

Smart Business Plan contest

»Cognizant has launched the third edition of its Board Room—Smart Business Plan Contest, aimed at management students across B-schools in India and the Asia-Pacific region. The contest provides an opportunity to management students to get creative, propose new business avenues for Cognizant, and draw up a business plan on what they think should be Cognizant’s next move for growth, differentiation and leadership. English learning programme

Vocational training for drop-outs

»The Government of Karnataka has launched an initiative that will provide free vocational training for school drop-outs , unemployed youth and ITI graduates.
