Man held for wife's death

Subramanyapura police arrested an electrician, Subramani, a resident of Chikkalasandra, in a dowry death case.

He was married to Gayatri, 28, five years ago. The police arrested him based on a complaint filed by her mother, Jayalakshmi.

The police recently found a half burnt woman’s body in a room at a house at Chikkalasandra. The identity of the body was established later and the police informed Jayalakshmi.

In the complaint, Jayalakshmi has stated that Subramani would often harass Gayatri to bring more dowry. He poured kerosene over her and burnt her, she has said in the complaint.

Man found dead

A former employee of a software firm was found dead at his house in Kormangala on Thursday. The victim was identified as Keshav, 36, a resident of Koramangala 6th block.

Neighbours alerted the police after foul smell started emanating from the house and the decomposed body was found.

He had quit the job a year ago and was preparing for some examination. The house was locked from inside and television, fan and lights were switched on.
