Three African nationals held for peddling cocaine

Banaswadi police have arrested three Africans for allegedly selling cocaine and seized 10 gram of a contraband substance said to be worth Rs 50,000.

The arrested are Steven Ojoy, 32, Ezekiel Johndon Onukwube, 27, and Jeremiah Chisom Okpusa, 33, all residents of Kithaganur Main Road, Battarahalli, near Garden City College.

Ojoy is a native of Acara city in Ghana, and Onukwube and Okpusa are from Port Harcourt in Nigeria.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested them near Indo Asia College, 2nd Block, HRBR Layout, Banaswadi, while they were allegedly selling the narcotic. The suspects procured the contraband from Mumbai and sold it to customers in the City for a higher price.

They were also said to be operating in Pulikeshinagar, Hennur, Ramamurthynagar and Banaswadi. Jeremiah was arrested for a similar offence in 2010 and the court had issued an arrest warrant against
him.
