Prasad Shetty of Mangalore has won the gold medal and the title ‘Strong Man of Karnataka 2012’ at the State-level championship organised by Indian Power lifting Federation from November 2 to 4 at Kundapur, according to a press release.
Prasad Shetty contested in the 59 kg class and his total weight lifted during the competition was 525 kilograms. He had won one gold and two bronze medals at the Asian International Power Lifting Championship held at Kobe city in Japan in December, 2011. A resident of Kodialguthu, Prasad Shetty, is the son of K Chandrahas Shetty and Shashi Shetty.
