Dempo hold Salgaocar

Visitors Salgaocar, who controlled the proceedings in the first half, took the lead as early as the 4th minute, when Ekena Ikenwa headed home a corner kick taken from the right by Manjit Singh. Dempo found their rhythm in second half and Roberto D’silva, their playmaker who had scored against Mumbai FC, found the equaliser in the 48th minute off a pass from Nicolau Borges.

Meanwhile, in another match Mahindra United edged past East Bengal 3-2. Bengal took the lead through D’cunha (24). But United went ahead through two goals from Subair Ali (30, 42). Yakubu Yusuf levelled the scores for Bengal in the 64th minute. NP Pradeep (78) scored his first ever goal in the I League to give Mahindra the win.
