Woman, 3 others, held for killing husband

Police have busted a murder case by arresting a woman, her paramour and two others on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, superintendent of police R Dileep said it was a case of illicit relationship and the accused are Puttalakshmi alias Lakshmi, 30, of Jabagere village in Hunsur taluk, Srinivas alias Gaadi Seena, 38, Raghavendra, 20 and S Ravi Kumar, 19, of Marchalli in K R Nagar taluk.

The SP said Srinivas had illicit relationship with Lakshmi, wife of his friend Srinivas Nayak since the past six months. When Nayak learnt about the development, he is reported to have harassed Lakshmi. She complained about this to Srinivas. They both hatched a plan to kill Nayak.

On November 15, Srinivas took Nayak for booze. When Nayak was fully drunk, he took the former near the Dodda Chamaraja Right Bank canal at Kantenahalli and stabbed him with a knife. Raghavendra and Ravi Kumar helped Srivnivas in the crime. Later they threw the body in the canal. K R Nagar police had registered a case.

K R Nagar police inspector Prasanna Kumar, SI M R Lava, Saligrama SI B J Mahesh, SP office technical wing SI Shashi Kumar and other personnel were involved in the investigation. The SP has announced a cash prize for the investigating team. Additional SP Mohan Reddy and rural DySP Siddappa were present at the press meet.

Youth dies in mishap

A MBA student was killed when he was hit by a speeding car on Bannur road in Mysore on Monday. Vachan (25), son of Chandru of Maddur in Mandya district was returning from VTU College to his room in Manasi Nagar on his bike when the car hit him from behind at 2 pm. He was rushed to a private hospital, but he did not respond to the treatment. N R Traffic police have registered a case.
