Acting on a tip off that a few youth were consuming banned substance such as ganja and heroin in church premises, the DCIB sleuths zeroed in on the group and arrested two persons. Police have recovered 510 grams of heroin, a Bullet bike, a Kinetic Honda and a mobile phone. A case has been registered and the duo will be produced before the court on Thursday.
It may be recalled that Kulshekar Parish Priest had informed the police last year that some unscrupulous elements have been trying to tarnish the image of the church by their misdeeds after sunset. The group had also strongly protested against the priest when it was decided to close the church gates at night to maintain the sanctity and to prevent any untoward incidents in the church premises.
