JOIN USRajeev Gandhi Panchayat Raj Organisations’ Sakleshpur taluk unit president H D Bhaskar alleged irregularities in the milk federation and failing to disburse money to the dairy farmers of Sakleshpur and demanded probe on the same.
Addressing a press meet in Hassan on Monday, he said the dairy farmers should be paid once in a week but the federation has not paid them since four months. The dairy which procures milk at Rs 15 per litre from the farmers in turn sells it for Rs 30 to the customers. He also alleged that the federation members are focussed on earning more and not providing any benefits to those who sell milk.
He demanded the milk price be fixed at Rs 25 per litre. There are also disparities in distributing fodder. They are issuing only two bags of fodder in place of five bags, and the farmers are being harassed by making them to frequent the federation for money, he said.
Zero development
Development has come to a standstill in Sakleshpur constituency since several years. Apart from a few limping works being taken up under Central funds, no funds are being sanctioned by the government or through the local legislators funds.
Concrete roads turn death traps within months of laying the same. He alleged that the elected representatives and officials are hand in glove in misappropriation of funds.
Elected representatives are not responding to elephant corridor, illegal encroachment drive and compensation to crop loss and others. A mega protest will be held by Rajeev Gandhi Panchayat Raj organisation on December 13 in Sakleshpur. KPCC president Dr Parameshwar, opposition leader Siddharamaiah, leaders Ambarish, B Shivaram, MLAs A Manju and Rudregowda and others will participate in the protest, he said.
