JOIN USCPI district Secretary H M Renukaradhya has said that the sites should be distributed among the poor, by conducting a survey on the poor siteless families in the district, by January.
Speaking to presspersons, he said that the district administration should identify the land to be distributed among the poor. If the government land was not available, then efforts should be made to purchase it from private individuals.
“The elected representatives should not interfere while distributing sites to the poor. There are several complaints on irregularities while distributing sites at Indira Nagara extension. The district administration should probe into irregularities,” he said.
There are 4,000 siteless in Mudigere taluk. About 200 acre land will be required to distribute sites among them in Mudigere taluk. However, the authorities have identified only 40 acre land, he added.
