JOIN USA blood donation camp was held as part of Tipu Sultan Jayanti at the Town Hall here on Wednesday. The camp was joinly organised by Jeevadhare Trust, Santhakasalagere, Neralu Saamajika Samsthe and district blood bank centre.
Speaking at the camp, general secretary of Adichunchanagiri Educational Trust, Kommerahalli, Purushothamanandanatha Swamiji noted the importance of blood donation in saving lives.
Irrespective of the wealth accumulated by men, when he needs blood, he can recieve it only by donation, he said. We should save lives by donating blood, he added.
Muslim priest Ajeepashi Khan, City Municipal Council president M P Arunkumar, Dr Chandrashekar and others were present.
CM to visit Mandya tomorrow
Chief minister Jagadish Shettar will visit Mandya on November 23. He will inaugurate the Cauvery Bhavan of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam at 2.30 pm. Later, he will launch the upgradation works of V C Canal and other developmental projects.
