Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha had her own chair flown in from Chennai to Bangalore, for the Cauvery talks with her Karnataka counterpart Jagadish Shettar.

She also used a luxury bullet proof Land Cruiser car of the Tamil Nadu government to travel from the HAL Airport to Hotel Leela Palace, the venue of the meeting.

The Land Cruiser was brought to Bangalore by road from Chennai on Wednesday. Jayalalitha, who enjoys ‘Z plus security’, had also brought security personnel from Tamil Nadu. While 100 security personnel had been flown in from Chennai, the Karnataka police deployed 500 policemen on the route from the HAL airport to the meeting venue.

Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai greeted Jayalalitha with a “Namasakaragalu,” soon after she landed at the HAL airport with her 10-member delegation. Jayalalitha returned the greetings. At the start of her opening remarks at the meeting, Jayalalitha greeted everyone in Kannada, saying “Ellarigu Namaskara”.

She had lunch onboard the aircraft. At Leela Palace, Jayalalitha was greeted by Chief Secretary S V Ranganath and the hotel staff. The huge posse of media and security personnel grabbed the attention of the visitors to the hotel. Many clicked pictures of the visiting dignitary on their mobile phones.
