CMC former president attacked in group clash

Six persons were injured in a fight between two groups at the residence of Das Chinnasavari, former president of Robertsonpet City Municipal Council, on Thursday.

Former City Municipality member Stalin and his associates attacked the residence of Das Chinnasavari, which is located at Andersonpet-Robertsonpet double road. Heated arguments were exchanged between Das and Stalin.

Later, both the groups started attacking each other with lethal weapons, the police said.

Lathi charge

Alerted, police immediately came to the spot and dispersed the group with mild lathi charge.
Hearing the news, there was tension at Andersonpet area. But due to the district bandh on Thursday, there was no crowd and it was easy for police to bring the situation into control.

Women protest

Following the clash, more than 50 women staged a protest marched to the office of District Superintendent of Police and asked for protection to Chinnasavari and his family.

Kolar Gold Fields Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajanna assured the protesting women that action will be taken based on the complaint. Additional police security has been deployed in Andersonpet area to avoid further trouble.

A case has been registered at Andersonpet police station in this regard.
