Beary academy office to open on October 10 in City

Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy will open its new office premises at Presidium complex, Attavar on October 10, at 3 pm.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Academy President M B Abdul Rehman said that the office will be inaugurated by District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar while BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda will preside.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will release ‘Belkiri’ a quarterly edited by Academy Member Hamsa Malar. Meanwhile, ‘Beary Chelth,’ a book by Mohommad Tannirbavi will be released by former minister B A Moideen.

Coastal Development Authority Chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, MLA Yogish Bhat, Mayor Shankar Bhat, MLAs B Ramanath Rai, Abhaychandra Jain, U T Khader, K Vasanth Bangera,  Mallika Prasad, S Angara, BJP District President Monappa Bhandary, Karnataka Yakshagana Academy President Kumble Sundar Rao, Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy President Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar, Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy President Narayana Kharvy among others will be the special invitees.

During the programme, a Beary poets’ meet will be held under the presidency of Samshuddin Madikeri. Poets Ibrahim Tannirbavi, Ayesha U K, U A Kasim Ullal, Abdul Rehman Kuthethur, Rahim B C Road, Bashir Kinya, Hussein Katipalla and Jaleel Mukri will take part in the meet.

‘Daff’ traditional beary dance, ‘Kolkali,’ ‘Oppanepat,’ skits and various other beary cultural programmes will followed, he informed. Academy Members Abdul Aziz Baikampady and Hamsa Malar were present.
