The Lokayukta police on Wednesday trapped C Kumar, an Assistant Drug Controller (ADC), while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The Lokayukta police had laid the trap following a complaint filed by K P Gopinath, a doctor running a pharmacy.

“Kumar had issued a notice to the complainant from his department (Department of Drug Control) and demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 20,000 to cancel the same. However, the complainant did not succumb to it and filed a complaint with us,” the Lokayukta police said.

He was caught red-handed while receiving the money through another accused Satya, a private person, the police said. When searched Satya was found possessing Rs 45,000 but was unable to explain the source of money. He too was arrested.
