Social activist Anna Hazare was admitted to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon Friday after he complained of acidity problem.

"Anna is admitted in Medanta and under intensive care of a team of doctors. What are the health issues only doctors can say as professionals," Kiran Bedi, close aide of Hazare, posted in a tweet.

Hazare was admitted to the Gurgaon hospital after he complained of acidity problem. "Annaji was complaining of acidity problems since Thursday night, as it continued till morning he was taken to Medanta. As they have treated him earlier, that hospital was preferred," Shivendra Singh Chauhan, Team Anna member told IANS.

Former team Anna member and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal also wished Hazare a fast recovery. "Anna is in hospital. I wish him fast recovery, I wish I could go and meet him," Kejriwal said.

Hazare, founder of India Against Corruption (IAC), is in the capital since Dec 3. The septuagenarian is known for his hunger strikes. In August 2011, Hazare held a series of hunger strikes and protests in New Delhi and elsewhere for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill.
