JOIN USAccording to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Lal Bahadur, an army jawan Gupteshwar belonging to the Defence Service Core shot Lance Naik G Gajendran after he was denied leave at Panki area. The 108th platoon of the Defence Service Core is deployed here and on August 13, there were some heated exchange between Gupteshwar and Lance Naik G Gajendran.
“Gupteshwar, hailing from Bihar had asked for leave three days ago, but was denied by Lance Naik G Gajendran ,” Superintendent of Police (Rural) said adding that when Gupteshwar’s duty ended on Friday morning, he shot dead the Lance Naik. The incident came to light, only when Gupteshwar’s reliever Indra Kumar joined the duty. Gupteshwar was arrested and his service SLR (single loaded rifle) along with ammunition seized, Superintendent of Police, Lal Bahadur said.
