Raw deal for K'taka on Cauvery: CM

Last Updated 16 December 2012, 19:55 IST

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has stated that both, the Cauvery Monitoring Committee (CMC) and the Cauvery River Authority (CAR), have done injustice to the State, right from the earlier cases.

He told mediapersons here on Sunday that the CAR’s move on Cauvery issue on January 4 is being awaited. The BJP government has given more stress on irrigation projects in the State, and none of the earlier governments did so much of work in the irrigation sector earlier, he said.

“The BJP has been stating that the CBI has been converted into a puppet in the hands of the Congress, and the CBI former director’s recent statement had proved this again,” Shettar said.

When asked about the case filed with the Lokayukta against Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa, Shettar stated that suitable steps in this regard would be taken after the Lokayukta report on the issue is submitted.
