BCCI changes India-Eng ODI timings due to dew factor

Last Updated 19 December 2012, 12:18 IST

The timings of the first four matches of the India-England ODI series have been revised by the BCCI due to the dew factor which might have an impact on the play.

The matches will be starting at 12 noon which is two-and-a-half-hour earlier than the scheduled start of play. The five-match series will be played in January next year with the first match in Rajkot on January 11.
Remaining matches whose timings have been changed will take place in Kochi, Ranchi and Mohali respectively.

"The timings of the day-night matches have been revised, to counter the "dew factor" and ensure the best playing conditions for both the teams," a BCCI media release said. The last ODI, to be played at Dharamsala, will commence at 9:00 am.

The day and night match will start at 12 noon and end at 7.45pm. Interval will be from 3.30 pm to 4.15 pm while for the Dharamsala match, the session-wise timings will be 09:00 am to 12:30 pm (first session), 12:30 pm to 01:15 pm (lunch) and 01:15 pm to 04:45 pm (second session).

The excessive dew factor prompts the ball to get slippery thus placing the side bowling second at a disadvantageous position.
