Rich haul for South Division police

The South Division police have claimed to have solved as many as 434 criminal cases by arresting 311 people. They have recovered valuables worth Rs 7.21 crore in the last three months.

The cases pertain to dacoity, fleecing, robbery, burglary and vehicle theft.

The drive against the criminals led to the recovery of Rs 25 lakh in cash, gold worth Rs 3.45 crore, silver ornaments worth Rs 27 lakh, two-wheelers worth Rs 1.14 crore, nine autorickshaws worth Rs 7.65 lakh, 25 four-wheelers worth Rs 1.14 crore, 28 laptops worth Rs 18 lakh, 230 mobile phones worth Rs 35.38 lakh and other electronic goods worth Rs 34.31 lakh. The Siddapura police nabbed seven chain-snatchers and recovered 15 gold chains weighing 415 gram and worth Rs 12 lakh.
