Woman kills children, self

A woman killed her two children by poisoning them and later committed suicide by hanging at her residence at Kurli village in Chikodi taluk Friday.

According to the police, the dead are Rukmini Yashwant Mali (30), her son Shantinath (5) and daugthter Ramya (3).

The reasons for the extreme step are not known. Police suspect that domestic problems within the family might have driven Rukmini to take the extreme step.

The Nippani rural police have registered a case.
