Decision on support to govt after Jan 14: BSY

Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Monday that the Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) would take a decision on withdrawing support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government after Sankranti (January 14).

He said the State government had failed to implement pro-poor projects like the Suvarna Bhoomi, the Sandhya Suraksha and the Bhagyalakshmi, which he had initiated during his tenure as chief minister.

“The funds for these projects had not been released for these projects in the last seven to eight months,” he said.

He revealed that the KJP  plans to hold a dharna (demonstration) at Freedom Park in
Bangalore on Wednesday, in opposition to the indifferent attitude of the government, he explained.

A ‘Vidhana Soudha chalo’ agitation will follow the dharna, he said.
Protests would also be held at all district headquarters and important Assembly constituencies, he added.
