Last Updated 25 December 2012, 18:25 IST

Actor turned politician Ambarish on Tuesday said it’s the love and trust of the people of the district, that catapulted him to success as a politician.

Addressing a mega convention organised by Srirangapatna rural block Congress committee at Kalenahalli in the taluk, Ambarish said ‘it was by chance he forayed into politics’. He appealed to the party workers to ensure victory of the party in all the constituencies in the coming assembly elections in the State.

He also suggested the voters not to provide an opportunity for coalition government in the State, as it would again hinder the development of the State. He appealed to bring a single party to power and vote for absolute majority, which would help in overall development of the State.

He also clarified that his family members would not contest the polls, and give priority to the party workers.

Party observer of the district and former MLA R V Devaraj said ‘Ambarish has grown into a mega power and exuded confidence that the actor would win from any constituency.

The wave is in the favour of the party and the workers should make judicious use of it creating awareness among the people on the pro-people programmes of the Centre.

Congress district unit president M S Atmananda blamed the BJP government for its failure to concentrate on development across the state.

Youth leader S Sachidananda, former MLA Damayanthi Boregowda and others were present.
