With the entire country discussing violence against women, a movie like ‘Oass - The Dew Drop’ by first time director Abhinav Tiwari could not have come at a better time.
The film that was screened at Biffes received rave reviews from critics and audience alike.

Dealing with the issue of the multi-million dollar sex trade in the country, ‘Oass’ tells the true
story of an 11-year-old girl from Nepal, who has been forced into prostitution in the dingy brothels of Delhi and how she manages to come out of it.
Sharing the story

As a member of a UN team about six years ago, Abhinav had filmed the ordeal of girls who had been rescued and rehabilitated from brothels. He made up his mind that he would share their turbulent story with the world.

“What I noticed about this particular girl on whom the story is based is how optimistic she was. She did not blame anyone for her miseries and on the contrary wanted to help others like her. Such a thing coming out of a young girl was quite amazing,” he said.
Simple storytelling

“I was honest and simple with my storytelling and was very clear that unless I was fully convinced with my research and my script, I would not make the movie,” he added
