The information, however, is yet to be confirmed, according to Inspector General of Police (Western Range), Gopal Hosur. “If the information is true, then it will take a few days to take him into CBI custody,” added Hosur.
He said the CBI will have to seek extradition of Raja as he was wanted in India in several cases. Bannanje Raja is involved in 11 cases in Bangalore city and another 23 cases filed in police stations across Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
Bannanje Raja was a old student of Poornaprajna College in Udupi. He has gone underground from 1995.
