<p>Eight persons including a six-year-old child, all part of marriage parties, were killed in two separate accidents, in Davangere and Gulbarga on Sunday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Three women and child were killed on the spot and 23 seriously injured when the tractor they were travelling overturned near Kasavanahalli village, Harapanahalli taluk in Davangere district. The dead have been identified as Mamatha (16), Nirmala (35), Nayana (6) and Mallamma (50). All were headed to attend a mass marriage organised at Kodisiddeshwara temple in Kanchikere village of Harapanahalli taluk. <br /><br />As many as 18 persons who sustained grievous injuries have been admitted to the district hospital in Davangere. <br />As soon as the news of the accident reached them, Prabhu and Manjula, the bridegroom and the bride completed the wedding rituals in a hurry, only to attend the funeral of their relatives.<br /><br />Tyre burst kills 4<br /><br />In another accident, four persons who were on their way to attend a marriage were killed on the spot and seven sustained injuries when a tyre of the lorry they were travelling burst on National Highway 218 near Shiranur on the outskirts of Gulbarga, Sunday afternoon.<br /><br />The dead have been identified as Subhash (28), Mariyappa (25), Ameen Pasha (16) and Lal Ahmad (20), all residents of Madari village in Jewargi taluk in Gulbarga district.</p>
