A five-year-old girl was sexually abused by a private school teacher in north-east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar, police said. The accused has been detained and is being questioned. In another part of the city, a four-year-old was allegedly raped by a neighbour.
Rishabh Chaturvedi, 19, allegedly abused the abused the girl, who studies in nursery class, in the toilet during school hours.
The victim returned home in Shiv Vihar phase 4 and narrated the whole incident to her mother.
On Friday morning, her parents and neighbours went to the school, caught Chaturvedi and thrashed him up. They then informed police.
Police took the teacher, who stays at Jagriti Enclave, into custody and sent him for treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. After being discharged in the evening, he was taken to the police station for questioning.
The girl’s family members filed a complaint against Chaturvedi with Karawal Nagar police station.
“We received a complaint from the victim’s family and accordingly, we will registered a case,” said a police officer.
“We are still interrogating him. Initially, he had denied his involvment in the crime, but later confessed to have sexually abused her. There are lot of things which have to be verified. By late night, we will arrest the accused,” said the officer.
Assaulted by neighbour
In another incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area.
Bablu, 20, stayed next door to the victim’s house and allegedly raped her on Thursday evening. The victim’s mother told police she didn’t know how her daughter reached Bablu’s room.
“She noticed her coming out of the room crying,” a police officials said. The mother called police control room after the child told her what happened.
Bablu was arrested after the victim’s medical examination confirmed sexual assault.
