The incidents of rape and molestation have become a routine in the national capital with perpetrators showing no sign of fear for law. On Sunday, one incident of rape and another of molestation were reported from different parts of the city.

A 14-year-old class eight student was raped at her house at knifepoint on Saturday when the accused barged into the victim’s house at north east Delhi Khajuri Khas by scaling a wall and caught hold of her.

The accused was arrested on Sunday after the victim approached police along with her mother and registered a complaint.

The victim, a student of a government school, was at her home along with her mother on Saturday afternoon. She was sitting at her room while her mother was sleeping inside. The accused identified as Aalim, living in the victim’s neighbourhood, found the victim alone and raped her.

He also threatened to kill her in case she disclosed the incident of sexual assault to anyone, police said.
The accused then fled from the house again by scaling the wall.

The victim stayed quiet for a few hours before narrating the entire tragedy to her mother. She approached Khajuri Khas police station and registered a complaint. The medical test confirmed sexual assault. The police have arrested the accused who was sent to judicial custody.

In another incident, two women waiting in queue for their pizza at a leading pizza chain in Defence Colony area of south Delhi were molested by two men. When the woman protested, the accused not only abused them but also pulled them by their hair and groped over them, a police officer said.

“Around 6.30 pm on Friday, two boys first used foul language and passed lewd remarks at us and when we protested, they manhandled and molested us. When I raised alarm, they ran away. I called up 100 after which both the accused were nabbed by the public,” the girl said in her statement. A senior police officer said the accused have been identified as Omi Kumar and Tushar, both are resident of Tigri Extension.
