Wearing a light green sherwani and a turban, American rapper Snoop Dogg went all out singing 'Singh is King' to woo his Indian fans at his concert here as part of his maiden tour in the country.

The 41-year-old rapper, who is now known as Snoop Lion, delivered a high octane performance for the large crowd gathered at the Leisure Valley Park last night.

"I love India. India is a beautiful country. I promise that I will be back again for you lovely people. You all are amazing," said Dogg, who performed in Pune on January 11.

During his over an hour-long performance, the 'What's My Name' hitmaker churned out his popular numbers including 'I Wanna', 'California Girls', 'You are my Baby Girl' and many more.

However, the excitement among the crowd reached another level when he rapped to some Indian numbers like 'Subah Hone Na de', 'Dum Maro Dum' and most of all 'Singh is King', the hit track Snoop featured in alongwith Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for the film of the same name.

On seeing the crowds swaying to the music, Snoop said into his swarovski studded microphone, "That's the sign I was waiting for."

For many young people, his songs are popular numbers at discotheques.
"I am not a fan of his. But I know a few of his songs and like them a lot," said a student.

There were many foreigners too in the audience. "He is a brilliant performer. I don't miss any of his concerts. See my luck, I am in India and he is here for his performance," said Lisa, a student from Jamaica.

Snoop produced his first studio album Doggystyle in 1992 and after that he became a sensation in America. Currently, he is behind 120 singles and 11 studio albums. He is also scheduled to release his 12th album this year.
