The posters of ‘ABCD — Any Body Can Dance’ are out and the first thing that strikes you about the poster is the classic Michael Jackson pose. But actor-director Prabhu Deva confesses that he was caught unawares and didn’t know when the picture was clicked.

“It’s a very natural pose and that’s what makes the picture unusual. I didn’t know when they clicked it, but it’s a perfect picture,” Prabhu tells Metrolife.

Prabhu and director Remo D’Souza are busy touring the country promoting ‘ABCD’, which is the first 3D dance film. “I danced so much and I’ve shed seven kilos for the film. We danced on and off the sets and even our conversations revolved around dance and only dance. The movie has exceeded my expectations and I think it will surely inspire a lot of young people to take up dancing,” Prabhu notes.

The movie, which is slated to hit the screens on February 8, has roped in some of the best dancers and crew from across the globe. And what’s also interesting is that Prabhu has dubbed for the film. “This is the first time that I’ve dubbed in Hindi and more than me finding it tough, I think the engineers would have had a tough time, considering all the extra work that they have had to put in,” he laughs.

Prabhu says that makers of the film were keen to have Prabhu dub. “I think everybody has worked hard for ‘ABCD’. I play a guide in the movie, who pushes and inspires young dancers to get to the top. I think I’ve had an overdose of dance but I’ve loved every moment of working in this film,” he shares.

Prabhu points out that there are no big stars in the film. “There are nine songs, no romantic scenes and for a change, there will be very little fighting as well. It is in a sense an emotional film,” he adds.

Prabhu recently appeared on the Bigg Boss season 6 and got Salman Khan to do the moonwalk and also speak a few words in Tamil. “You would never find Salman overexcited or doing something unusual. He’s the same,” he says.

Prabhu has already started working on his next film Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya, an
Indian romantic drama.
