Though a month has passed since the meeting and 15 days since the deadline given by Zilla Panchayat president, department is still in the process of preparing the report! The next Progress review meet is scheduled to be held on Thursday.

Reacting to the questions Women and Child Welfare Department’s Deputy Director Bhaskar said that CDPOs had been directed to give information to complete the report. However, the CDPOs are yet to give full information. Once the information is gathered, the report will be submitted, he told media persons.

When drawn his attention to the expiry of deadline, Bhaskar said that the officials in-charge of the Anganwadi Centres were entrusted with other responsibilities and they had to file the required information, fullfiling their duties.

Srinivaspur centre

The Zilla Panchayat President had ordered the report on the efficiency of the anganwadi centres in the wake of the complaints that anganwadi workers were highly irregularly.
Directing the officials to submit the report on all the 1,726 anganwadi centres in the district, the president had first sought the report on anganwadi centres in the Srinivaspur taluk.

Incomplete work

In the same meeting (Sept 15) Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer G V Ranga Rao took to task Chief Engineer Devaraj for the non-completion of the works of Post Matriculation Girls’ Student Hostel, opposite ITCM Hospital in the City.

What could be called as the abject state of affairs, Devaraj had then assured the meeting to complete the works in a week’s time which till today has not been completed. Ranga Rao criticised Devaraj for the excuse and recalled that he had harped the same thing in the progress review meet held in the month of March, six months ago! Interestingly the works of the hostel is still going on!
