Haryana to decide teachers' fate

 The Haryana government on Wednesday said it will examine the Delhi court judgement in the junior basic trained teachers recruitment scam to decide the fate of 3,206 teachers, who were illegally recruited.

The teachers who were illegally recruited in the scam should be sacked, the Delhi court had said on Tuesday while sentencing former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and eight others to 10 years in jail.

Judgement copy awaited

Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, “We will
examine the judgement to decide on the fate of the teachers.”
The state government is awaiting a copy of the judgement, he added.
The chief minister said that he does not see the judgement as a matter of political gain or loss.

On January 16, the court had held 78-year-old Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautalaand 53 others guilty of illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained teachers in Haryana in 2000.
