“There is some rise in the international crude oil prices. But we are not considering revising the retail prices of petrol and diesel,” Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told newspersons here on Friday.
“The overall situation is not that worrisome. The devaluation of the dollar against the rupee has helped to a large extent in neutralising the impact of a rise in the global crude oil prices,” he said when asked about the petroleum ministry’s response to the global crude oil prices surging to $78 per barrel.
“The strengthening of the rupee against the dollar has helped us in bringing down the cost of oil import,” he said.
