T-tangle fails to mar Cong writ in AP

Last Updated 06 February 2013, 20:00 IST

In an apparent push to the separate Telangana state demand in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Kiran Reddy, during his recent visit to the national capital, handed over the results of agricultural cooperative elections to Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi to emphasise that electoral prospects have not eroded despite the T-tangle.

The demand for separate Telangana has become a major political issue in the state with the UPA government being pushed to the wall after union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde said on December 28 that a solution would be announced in a month’s time.

Though the deadline has lapsed, the suspense whether UPA government will deliver on its promise continues. Reddy, who at best is an unionist but would not resist an amicable solution acceptable to all the regions of the state, is said to have given a copy of the analysed results of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies.
