In a piece of good news for cricket lovers of Jaipur, the Rajasthan High Court has directed the warring Rajasthan Cricket Association and the Rajasthan State Sports Council to execute a new MoU so that the IPL-6 matches of the Rajasthan Royals can be played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here.

The MOU between RCA and RSCC regarding the use of the stadium had expired in August last year. The RSCC was reluctant to renew the agreemnt in its present form citing past dues from RCA. The row had robbed Jaipur’s chances of hosting the Irani Cup match last year while the BCCI was mulling to host this year’s IPL matches in Ahmedabad and Rajkot.

The court gave both of the factions time till February 11 to execute the MoU. The HC bench directed the RCA to deposit Rs 20 lakh per match with the Rajasthan sports council in advance. The court directions came on a PIL filed by one Vinod Singhal who petitioned the court that due to the dispute between the two sporting bodies the people of Rajasthan and Jaipur in particular will be deprived for the new edition of the IPL matches. The court while hearing the case asked replies from both the bodies.
