Eve teasing: Teenage girl stabbed by youth

In a case of eve teasing, a teenaged girl was stabbed in chest by a youth in the presence of her father here, police said today.

The incident took place when the girl, a student of standard nine was returning home last night from her tuition classes with her father.

The youth passed lewd comments at her which angered her father. The two went to the youth's house nearby to lodge their complaint with his parents.

When they reached the house, the youth rushed out and stabbed the girl with a dagger and critically injured her, police superintendent C Sudhakar said.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Sudhakar said the youth is absconding since the incident and search is on to catch him.
