JD(S) for farm loan waiver if voted to power

Ex-minister and JD(S) leader H D Revanna said the JD(S) will waive off farm loans if the party comes to power in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Speaking at a convention organised at Shanivarasanthe on Saturday, he said farmers are suffering due to rise in price of essential commodities and fertilisers.

The BJP-led state government has failed to respond to the needs of coffee growers, farmers, labourers and Dalits. There is a need to create awareness on the maladministration of the state government.

Ex-minister B A Jeevijaya said the farmers have been neglected by the state government.

JD(S) district unit president V P Shashidhar said the state government is steeped in corruption.

The state is reeling under acute shortage of electricity. The people of the state are craving for a change, he added.

Prior to the convention, the JD(S) workers took out a rally from Gudugalale to Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle.
