State BJP writes to Rajnath against two MPs

BJP State President K S Eshwarappa has written to party National President Rajnath Singh to initiate disciplinary action against two party MPs from the State — B Y Raghavendra and Shivakumar Udasi — for their alleged anti-party activities.

Raghavendra is the son of KJP President and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, while Shivakumar is the son of former minister C M Udasi, who recently quit the BJP to join the KJP.  The two MPs have remained in the BJP, but have been associating themselves with the KJP at its party events.

The party at its core-committee meeting in Bangalore earlier this week decided to seek the intervention of the party central leadership to initiate action against the two MPs. The party’s Parliamentary Board is the final authority to decide on complaints against MPs.

The party has already suspended Tumkur MP G S Basavaraj, a loyalist of Yeddyurappa, in December last.

In another action against Yeddyurappa’s loyalists, the State BJP recently submitted a petition to Chairman of the Legislative Council D H Shankaramurthy seeking the disqualification of six MLCs for associating themselves KJP while being in the BJP.
