The Lokayukta police of Ramanagara district on Friday raided the office of the sub- registrar of Taverekere and seized Rs 60,000 of bribe amount.
The Lokayukta police were acting on complaints of bribes being taken for issuing encumbrance certificates and other routine duties.
A team headed by Superintendent of Police P K Shivashankar raided the office of sub-registrar B M Janardhan and found the cash.
The sub-registrar could not give a satisfactory explanation about the amount and was later arrested and produced before the Court.
He has been remanded in judicial custody.
