Varsity okays transfer of land for bus stand

 The Government has to pass a notification in this regard, said Bangalore Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor Dr P G Changappa.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of the inauguration of SAI synthetic hockey stadium and girls hostel building, he said “we have asked the government to hand over 8 acre land belonging to Horticulture department near Ponnampet Forest College for handing over three acres land for the bus stand.”  He said the proceedings of meeting chaired by CM has been sent to the government. University does not have any objection to handing over the land, he clarified.

However, he refused to comment on confusion between Coorg Hockey Association and SAI.

The VC did not comment on the appeal to construct gallery, toilets, dressing room and emergency unit at the stadium.

Poly house

A well advanced poly house will be constructed in the University land adjacent to SAI Centre in Madikeri. For the purpose, University will spend Rs 20 lakh. A sum of Rs 18 lakh under National Horticulture Mission will be utilised. The poly house will be used for the encouragement of floriculture along with developing nursery.
