In Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district, a 19-year-old boy fell in love with a 60-year-old woman, who is mother of seven children, and preferred to be ostracised from society rather than leaving her beloved.

On Monday young Dinesh Kumar wedded Janki Devi at the Sakaran village in Sitapur district in full public view. Dinesh made a cut mark in his hands and put a mark with the oozing drops of blood on Janaki's forehead. Miffed and angry at this, the people of the village decided to banish them from the village which the lovers gleefully accepted. “We not only lost our homes but we have also been asked to leave the limits of the village and never to return,” Dinesh said. He also can't say when he fell in love with Janaki.

With Janaki, a mother of seven children, things were different though. Her husband had died several years back and the children used to ignore her.

“When Dinesh expressed his love I could not say no,” Janaki said though she admits that he is too young to love her.

Their affair lasted for two years before they were once spotted by some villagers. “We were once thrashed by the villagers also,” Dinesh said.

Restrictions were put on them and they were not allowed to meet for a long time. Ultimately the lovers decided to make public their love affair and declared that they could not live without each other.

On Monday, they reached a house of a friend and in front of the villagers, both declared that they would henceforth live together much to the shock and disbelief of the people.
