A complex love story

Impromptu’ stars Judy Davis, Hugh Grant, Bernadette Peters, Julian Sands and Ralph Brown. George Sands, a notorious Bohemian, was perhaps the most celebrated novelist of the early nineteenth century, better known in her day than even Charles Dickens.

Frederic Chopin was among the greatest musicians of his age — a prodigy who rapidly gained a legendary reputation all over Europe as both a pianist and a composer.

This movie is the comic and tender tale of how George Sands and Chopin met; of how Sands recklessly pursued Chopin, how Chopin resisted Sands’ advances and of the best and most mischievous efforts of those around them. Catch the film on MGM at 7 pm on February 28.
