Fake police rob nine

According to the police, complainant Faizal and eight of his friends, who stay at HAL second stage and work at Maruti Service Station in Indiranagar, visited Cubbon Park. Two persons came posing as policemen and inquired about Faizal and his friends. They took them behind the High Court and collected their cellphones and cash and asked them to meet them at the police station next day to collect their items and directed them to leave the place immediately. The group later discovered that they were duped.

Pistol, bike recovered

Mahadevapura police arrested two persons and recovered a countrymade pistol and a bike worth Rs 50,000 from them.

The accused are, Palani (17), of Vijinapura and Deepak Kumar Pandey (30), of Anekal taluk. Another accused Muniraju of Vijinapura, is absconding. Police arrested them at Vijinapura. The accused would come on a bike during the night hours, threaten citizens and rob their valuables. They tried to rob one Ramesh Athanai in July, while he was returning home in Garudacharyapalya. They opened fire at him when he tried to snatch the pistol and fled. An injured Ramesh was admitted to a hospital. Police constituted a team to nab them.

 Pandey hails from Bihar, but was brought up in Kottanallur. He bought the pistol in Bihar and sold the same to Palani. The two accused disclosed that it was Muniraju who opened fire at Ramesh.
